Business review presentation templates
Decks for reporting how the business is doing: a quarterly business review with goals versus results, a weekly team update, and an annual report for stakeholders. Each puts the headline numbers first and ends with decisions you need.
Templates
- Quarterly business review (presentation): Report a quarter’s results, wins, misses and priorities for the next quarter in 8 slides.
- Weekly team update (presentation): A short weekly status deck: progress, metrics, blockers and plans for next week.
- Annual report (presentation): Summarize a year for stakeholders: financial highlights, milestones, impact, lessons and the outlook ahead.
How to use these templates
- Choose the quarterly review, the weekly update or the annual report.
- Paste in your numbers and notes, or attach last quarter's report, and say who the audience is: your leadership team, a client or the board.
- Ask the AI to "rewrite the slide titles as conclusions" so each slide states what the data means.
- Download as PowerPoint and send it as a pre-read a day before the meeting.
Running a business review that leads to decisions
- Open with a one-slide summary: three numbers, the biggest win, the biggest miss and the decision you need.
- Show every metric against its target and against the last period. A number on its own does not say whether it is good.
- Be candid about misses and say what you are changing. Reviews that only show wins lose credibility fast.
- For a client QBR, focus on the value they received, such as savings, time or results, rather than your own activity.
- Move detailed tables to an appendix. Keep the main deck to about ten slides so there is time to discuss.
Frequently asked questions
What is a QBR?
A quarterly business review: a meeting every three months to compare results with goals, discuss what worked and agree priorities for the next quarter. It is held internally with leadership, or with a client by an account team.
What should a quarterly business review include?
Headline results against targets, highlights, goals hit and missed with reasons, lessons learned, priorities for next quarter and any decisions or resources needed.
How is a weekly update different?
It is shorter, about five slides, and covers progress, blockers and next week's plan rather than strategy.
