Resume format for freshers

A one-page fresher resume in the format Indian campus recruiters and HR teams expect: career objective, CGPA with Class X and XII marks, internships, academic projects, technical skills and the closing declaration. It is also laid out to pass the ATS used by large IT and services companies.

How to use these templates

  1. Open the fresher format and tell the AI your degree, college, graduation year and the role you want, for example "B.Com 2025, applying for accounts executive".
  2. Add your marks, internship and two academic projects. Ask it to "turn my project notes into bullet points with results".
  3. Replace the declaration's place and date, and sign your name under it.
  4. Download as PDF for placement portals, or Word if the company asks for a .doc file.

What recruiters look for on a fresher resume

Frequently asked questions

Should a fresher resume be one page?

Yes. With no full-time experience, one page is enough and is what recruiters expect. Cut school-level activities before cutting projects or internships.

Is the declaration necessary on a resume?

It is not legally required, but many Indian employers and government recruiters still expect it on a fresher resume, so keeping it is the safe choice. It is usually dropped on experienced resumes and for jobs abroad.

How do I write a resume with no internship?

Lead with academic projects, a final-year project, hackathons, college club roles or freelance work. Each one can show the same skills an internship would, as long as you say what you did and what came of it.

Should I write CGPA or percentage?

Write it the way your university reports it, and add the conversion if a company asks for percentage. Use percentage for Class X and XII.
