Calendar templates for Excel
A twelve-month calendar on one landscape page that never goes out of date: type a year in the shaded cell and every month redraws with the right dates, weeks starting on Monday and weekends picked out in colour. Alongside it are a weekly planner with hourly slots and a to-do list with due dates, for planning at the week and task level.
Templates
- Yearly calendar (Excel spreadsheet): A printable yearly calendar for Excel that works for any year: change the year and all 12 months redraw, with weeks starting on Monday.
- Weekly planner (Excel spreadsheet): A printable weekly planner with hourly slots for each day, top priorities and notes, set to any week.
- To-do list (Excel spreadsheet): A to-do list spreadsheet with priorities, due dates, lists and a done tick: finished tasks fade and overdue ones turn red.
- Gantt chart (Excel spreadsheet): A Gantt chart template for Excel: tasks with start dates and durations draw their own bars across an 8-week timeline, shaded by progress, with a today line.
How to use these templates
- Type the year you want in the shaded cell at the top left.
- Check the months, then type events, holidays or deadlines into a copy or print it and write on it.
- Print on one landscape page; it is set to fit the width.
- Use the weekly planner for appointments and the to-do list for tasks with due dates.
Using a spreadsheet calendar
- Because dates come from formulas, the same file gives you next year’s calendar. Keep it and change the year each January.
- Mark school terms, holidays or busy seasons by filling cells with colour in Excel; the formulas are not affected.
- For a desk calendar, print it on A4 or US Letter in landscape and trim the margins.
- Weeks start on Monday, as in the UK, Europe and India. For a Sunday start, move the S column to the front in Excel.
- For a project timeline, the Gantt chart template is better: it shows how long each task takes, not just the dates.
Frequently asked questions
Will the calendar work for 2027 and beyond?
Yes. Every date is calculated from the year cell, so it works for any year, including leap years.
Can I add holidays?
Yes. Colour the cells or add a note. Public holidays differ by country, so none are built in.
Can I print one month per page?
In Excel, select one month’s block, choose Print Selection and scale it to fit the page.
Does it open in Google Sheets?
Yes. Import the .xlsx and change the year in the same way.
