AI PDF summarizer

Turn a long PDF or Word document into a short summary you can read in a minute, with key numbers, dates and action items, and the page each point came from.

How to use Summarize a PDF

  1. Choose a PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file, or paste text.
  2. Pick a length: short, standard or detailed. Add a focus like "risks and deadlines" if you want one.
  3. Edit the summary if you like, then copy or download it.

Frequently asked questions

How long a document can it summarize?

Long ones too. Documents over about 40,000 characters are read in parts and then combined into one summary.

Can I get the summary in another language?

Yes. Pick a language, such as Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi or Arabic, and the summary is written in it.

Does it make things up?

It is told to use only what the document says and to cite pages, so you can check each point. Always check anything important.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Not yet. It reads PDFs that contain text; support for scans (OCR) is coming.

What happens to my document?

The text of your request and any document you attach is sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. Nothing is used to train models.
